Accommodation in an English household

Everybody needs to be able to speak English these days. It can be difficult to find the time and commitment to follow a regular course and, anyway, you want more chance to practise. The best solution is to take a week off work and come to Manchester. Spend 8 days with us, improving your English, learning about British culture and having a good holiday! You will be surprised what a difference it will make to your confidence and fluency.

The programme includes 18 hours of tuition with experienced, expert teachers; excursions to visit places of interest in and around Manchester; accommodation in an English household, to ensure you have full immersion in English the whole time you are here; and the opportunity to explore by yourself. All you have to do is book your flights: we take care of everything else.

Our courses are one-to-one, tailor-made to meet the specific requirements of each individual client. You tell us in advance what your particular needs and interests are and we will design your course to concentrate on these areas.

Two excursions are included in the course fees. One is the orientation on the first Saturday afternoon and the other you can choose. You might like, for example, to make a tour of the Manchester United football stadium, experience the famous Trafford Centre shopping mall or have an evening out with a group of British people.

There are also many interesting things you can do by yourself, including taking a train to another city or town in the North West of England, such as York, Chester or Liverpool.

Accommodation

You will have your own bedroom in a house or flat within 5-10 minutes' walk of the school, sharing with either Iain (if you are a man) or Georgie (if you are a woman). There will be people around a lot of the time but your privacy will be completely respected. You will share the bathroom and kitchen but arrangements are informal and you will be comfortable. Bed-linen and a towel are provided for you.

Accommodation includes continental breakfast and a cooked meal in the evenings.

Fees

The fees are £950 sterling. This includes:

  • Pick up from and return to Manchester airport or a local station
  • 18 hours of one-to-one lessons and all course materials
  • Bed, breakfast and evening meal for 9 nights
  • 2 excursions: the fees include the teacher's time and transport within the local area but NOT your tickets or anything else you want to buy
  • Full immersion in English, advice, guidance and moral support.

Give yourself a chance to learn while you are on holiday. Enjoy the full JMJ-Manchester experience and go home confident you have improved your English.
