General Language
We provide expert training in
European and Oriental languages at all levels, from beginner
to advanced, on a one-to-one basis or in groups.
For one-to-one courses, we tailor
the training to suit the requirements and interests of each
client. This means it moves at your speed, uses examples and
materials of interest and relevance to you, and can focus
more on speaking/listening or on writing/reading, depending
what you want.
We will teach you the grammar
you need to make the language work for you and the functional
language of everyday life - for example: shopping, travelling,
socialising, dealing with problems, telephoning. We can also
include any aspects of business language that would be useful
to you.
While we believe that grammar
is important, the emphasis is always on communication and
confidence-building.
Lessons may take place at our
school or at your workplace if it is difficult for you to
come to us. We recommend that you come to us if it is at all
possible because you will be away from all the distractions
of work.
The timetable is flexible and
your course may be intensive, extensive or a mixture - whatever
suits you.

Business Language
We provide expert training in
business Spanish, Italian, French, German, Dutch, Russian,
Mandarin, Cantonese, Portuguese, Greek, Japanese and Thai,
on a one-to-one basis or in groups.
The course is tailor-made to meet your specific requirements.
You tell us what your job involves and which areas you would
like to explore and practise, and we design the course accordingly.
Where relevant, we will also discuss and advise you on the
cultural aspects of situations.
For example, you may want to
work towards being able to do the following in your target
language without fear of linguistic or cultural misunderstandings:
- make clear and successful presentations
- speak and understand on the telephone
- attend - or chair - meetings
- negotiate with colleagues, suppliers or clients
- interview a candidate or be interviewed yourself
- write business letters, e-mails and reports
- socialise with colleagues or clients.
We create materials and roleplays especially for you (and
anything you tell us about your company is treated in the
strictest confidence).
Before you start learning business
language, we assume you will already have at least an intermediate
general knowledge of the language in question but we can include
in a business-language course any elements of grammar that
you particularly need or that are causing you problems.
Lessons may take place at our
school or at your workplace if it is difficult for you to
come to us. We recommend that you come to us if it is at all
possible because you will be away from all the distractions
of work.
The timetable is flexible and
your course may be intensive, extensive or a mixture - whatever
suits you.

Group Language Courses
If you need to learn a language quickly
and/or thoroughly, we would strongly recommend you consider
one-to-one training. It may seem an expensive way of doing
it but, because it is far more focused and efficient than
group learning, you will make much quicker progress and thus
need fewer lessons.
However, there are many cases
in which a group course is the best option.
If you have a number of employees
needing/wanting to learn one language, we can teach them in
a group or groups, either at your workplace or at our school.
Before the course begins, we
carry out a needs analysis, to ascertain the aims and objectives
of the course. We also assess the current level and aptitude
of all the participants, so that we can arrange the groups
to best advantage.
During the course, we give each
person as much individual attention as possible and do a lot
of pairwork so that everyone plays an active part in the lesson.
We can customise materials for you and tailor the course to
your business as much as required.
